Hi Everyone,
I'm Cam! Thanks so much for checking out Alpha Sport. If you want to know the vision behind Alpha Sport, I need to tell you about myself:
I grew up playing sports. Summer basketball camp? Check. Little League all-stars? Yup. Homemade mountain bike courses? That's right. I have a scar on my right shoulder from where my cousin and I brutally collided at the finish line.
Eventually, I focused on swimming. My dad was a swim coach. He taught me to swim at a local campground. When I was ready to complete my first length he asked everyone to clear the pool and cheer. I was rewarded with Pogs. Shout out to '90s kids.
I ended up being a YMCA, High School, and NCAA All-American in swimming. I won some races and broke a few records.
But once my career was over, I lost my mojo.
Without the structure of collegiate swimming, I struggled with routine. Without the fellowship of teammates, I struggled with motivation. And without the swimmer body, I struggled to see myself as an athlete.
I was stuck.
Until, I realized something: my definition of an athlete was wrong.
Being an athlete isn't all about awards and winning. First and foremost, it's about a person. Mind, soul, and body. The 90-year old who walks down her driveway to get the mail is an athlete. The 60-year old who enjoys hiking is an athlete. The 30-year old who conquered his hate of running is an athlete.
Once my perspective changed, I became unstuck. And I started Alpha Sport to help you become unstuck too.
